Why should I attend?
The theme of this year’s Winter Meeting is “Nuclear Technology for the U.S. and the World.”
More than 1200 participants are expected to attend, representing every field of nuclear science and technology from across the United States and many countries throughout the world.
In addition to an impressive list of government and industry leaders who will address the theme of the meeting, we are also planning several outstanding special events and activities that will appeal to all participants. From education to networking, you’ll be informed and in-touch with the brightest minds in the profession. The ANS Winter Meeting provides the insight that you have been looking for!
What are the registration dates?
Registration will open in July. Be sure to take advantage of reduced pricing prior to October 31. Online registration closes November 16, at which point you will need to register onsite. Please note there is an increased fee ONSITE.
What does my registration fee include?
Full meeting registration includes President’s Reception, meeting publication and any scheduled meals. One day passes include the meeting publication and scheduled meals for that day. Additional tickets for the reception or special events can be purchased in advance or onsite at the registration desk.
I am not an ANS Member, how do I become one?
If you are interested in taking advantage of the member rate, join ANS as a National Member at https://secure.ans.org/join/. Once you complete the member application, you can immediately register at the lower member fee. You must be an ANS National Member before you can register at the member rate. Can I register onsite?
Yes, after November 16 you will need to register onsite.
Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
Yes, once payment has been processed, you will receive an email with a confirmation of your purchase for the 2019 ANS Winter Meeting.
What is your cancellation policy?
Registration cancellations must be made in writing prior to October 31, 2019, in order to receive a refund minus $150.00 processing fee. Meeting registrations, special event and tour tickets cancelled after October 31 will not be refunded, but you are able to send a substitute.
What if I can’t make it, but I can find a substitute?
Please contact email@example.com, with the reason you are unable to attend, along with your substitute’s contact information.
What is the dress code?
Business or Business Casual. And while we are in Washington, DC, meeting rooms tend to run a bit on the cool side, so make sure to bring a jacket or sweater.
Are there any sponsorship opportunities?

Who can attend the President’s Reception?
The President’s Reception is a ticketed event. However this event is already included in the price of the full meeting registration. You can purchase a ticket for yourself if you only registered for one day, or for your guests in advance or onsite for $125 each.
Does ANS have a room block for attendees?
Yes, at the Marriott Wardman Park, the rate is starting at $239+ per room, per night. All meeting activities, technical sessions and plenary sessions will be held at the hotel (unless otherwise noted). Reservations must be made by Wednesday, October 31, 2019, or before the group rooms are sold out, so do not delay. Prevailing hotel rates may apply after this date or when the group rooms are sold out, whichever occurs first. ANS has also secured a block of rooms at the government per diem.
I’m a Speaker, do I need to register?
Yes. All speakers must register for either a one-day or for the full meeting. If you wish to attend additional activities or have a guest, you will need to register for those as well so that meeting credentials can be prepared for you.
Onsite at the conference: All speakers and session chairs must check in upon arrival at the ANS Registration Desk.
